Pinoy Coffee Mug Tuesday: Show Off Your Coffee Mugs (14th Mug)

This is a great coffee mug and a funny one too because it shows the evolution of man and at the end Lapu Lapu stops and looks at his back as if saying "Why are you following me???" The evolution ends with Lapu Lapu! Nice!

As I was looking for coffee mugs around the net, I came across this photo blog by Aries. He has this photography project called Project 52 where he shoots 52 photos in 52 weeks. Great idea huh? Here are some of the pictures he has and luckily they're coffee mugs from Starbucks Philippines - a great fit for Pinoy Coffee Tickle. Enjoy!

Pinoy Coffee Mug Tuesday: Show Off Your Coffee Mugs (11th Mug)

This "Salakot Man Pinoy" Mug by Pinoy Apparel really caught my attention because of its color and the design. I have never associated the Philippines with this type of green since every time I see a Filipino design that is inspired by a flag it usually has the colors blue, yellow, red and white. As for this mug the only color or should I say shade is white so it was hard for me to understand at first but eventually I liked it and understood that as artists you should have freedom with your color and work. Who knows maybe this type of green will be the next "in" color. This is a mug that every Pinoy should be proud of us.

Pinoy Coffee Mug Tuesday: Show off Your Coffee Mugs (9th Mug)

As some of you know I went to Thailand last week and of course I couldn't forget bringing some coffee mugs from there. Due to budget constraints and weight limit I was only able to buy 2 mugs but both of them are nice and I am excited to show them to you. Tell me what you think all right?

I had to get this when I saw this..a Starbucks Bangkok Mug! Nice! After this one, I plan to collect this kind of Starbucks mug wherever I go.

And here's my favorite..

It just look like a plain looking mug..nice color though..

But look at what you'll see inside...a Shark! It was the only one left that time and it was only 29 Bhat (less than 1 dollar) not bad for a design like that huh?

So there are the two coffee mugs that I bought in Thailand. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Pinoy Coffee Mug Tuesday: Show Off Your Coffee Mugs (8th "Thrilla in Manila" Mug)

I love this mug not only because of the design (which is really well thought of, in my opinion) but because it's all about the fight "Thrilla in Manila." It's the famous boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, fought at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on October 1, 1975.

As for the design, I'm giving this a 9/10 as I have yet to see the perfect cup. But as I said earlier, the design was well thought of. If I am not mistaken the background of the coffee mug is the Sun in the Philippine flag and yes, the three stars are there too. Simple but great work huh? What do you think?

See more colors of the mug here.

It was my birthday yesterday and look what I got...a Coffee Tickle Mug (Thanks Ada!). I only got a Coffee Tickle one though but I'm looking forward to making a Pinoy Coffee Tickle mug too.

This is just a nice coffee mug as I used it for the first time (ok..no connection with the movie that just showed last week) today and as I said in my other blog, this is just perfect! This adds to my collection of coffee mugs where I don't use the others since I am contented with my spaceship type mug

So what do you think? Share your thoughts regarding the Coffee Tickle mug. Have a great day everyone!

Here is a mug I saw while searching the internet for some Pinoy/ Filipino inspired/owned mugs. It's designed by the people from Phil. Mountain Coffee in Tiendesitas (Ortigas). I encourage everyone to visit their place to see more coffee related items. Just hang out there and taste Philippine Mountain Coffee.

Pinoy Coffee Mug Tuesday: Show Off Your Coffee Mugs (6th "The Ninoy Aquino Coffee" Mug)

The Ninoy Aquino Coffee Mug image
The Philippines observed a holiday yesterday, August 18, because it was anniversary of assassination of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr. The real date should be August 21 but President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, moves some of the holidays that are in the middle of the week to a Monday so as to create a long weekend.

On that day, after a three year exile, Ninoy Aquino returned to the Philippines where he was shot in the head as he was being escorted off the plane at the Manila International Airport (later renamed to Ninoy Aquino International Airport). This was what sparked the 1986 EDSA Revolution.

Where do we get the mug?

Everyone may purchase it at Pinoy Apparel

Hope everyone had a great long weekend..

Got Balut Coffee Mug Image

Got Balut? Nope! But what we have is this cool Got Balut? Coffee Mug by Pinoy Apparel. Isn't it cool to have one of the best known Filipino food shown in a mug. They did somehow copied the "Got Milk?" campaign but it is still nice and it is to know that this is really Pinoy-inspired or made. Pinoy Apparel does have lots of other cool mugs that will be featured in this site in the coming weeks of Pinoy Coffee Mug Tuesday but this Got Balut? Coffee Mug is too cool and just deserves a solo feature here in PCT.

So anyone interested in that cool mug please visit Pinoy Apparel's site and see more of what they have to offer. I'm sure you'll like it and might want to purchase one right away.

Hope you liked this week's mug..Getting a little hungry here and might want to have some Balut(for those who haven't tasted or seen one). But regard to taking it together with coffee, I will have to pass on that. Each has to be enjoyed separately don't you agree?

I just wonder if they have stopped accepting orders for the coffee mugs since the last activity in their message boards was back in April. I'll try to confirm this so we could all enjoy their coffee mugs with great coffee and at the same time support Pinoy designers/artists.

Pinoy Coffee Mug Tuesday: Show off Your Coffee Mugs (3rd Mug)

As promised, here are the rest of the Pinoy designed coffee mugs that were posted in last year's (yes, last year!) YTrip Contest. Hope you enjoy the designs and hope this inspires a lot of artists out there! Enjoy..

Coffee Road Trip
LAKBAY DIWA

Tara na Biyahe Tayo

Biyaheng Pinoy

Lupang Hinirang

I still wonder if there will be another one like that contest for this year. I hope there is one but I won't be joining since I am not that gifted in designing. I just want to see different artists displaying their talents in something really useful and that is the coffee mug. Come to think of it, why not make the coffee mug more Filipino? That would be really nice! Great mugs and design!

Pinoy Coffee Mug Image

In celebration of last year's Philippine Coffee Festival, YTRIP and Kape Isla launched Biyahe at Kape! - "a coffee mug design competition in search of THAT Pinoy coffee mug design that highlights Pinoy travel experience and enriches Pinoy taste."

Seen above is the coffee mug sample done by Clare Amador and Ron Nieto and the picture was taken by Jason Tengco. The rest of the mugs will be posted in the coming weeks. I am not sure if they have the same contest for this year but I will be updating you in the next post of Pinoy Coffee Mug Tuesday. Tickle Away to a Great Day everyone and remember when drinking your coffee in the shop, drink from a mug..it helps save the environment and it tastes better:)
